Rod Serling documentary in the works from Leonardo DiCaprio: Buzz

Leonardo DiCaprio is traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.
IndieWire reports the Oscar-winning actor is producing a documentary about Rod Serling, the Syracuse-born creator of “The Twilight Zone.” The untitled film will be directed by Jonah Tulis (”GameStop: Rise of the Players”) with Serling’s daughters Jodi Serling and Anne Serling on board as executive producers.
The documentary will aim to chronicle how Serling changed television forever, from his work on the sci-fi TV show to using his platform to address issues of war, racism, morality and the dangers of technology. The project will reportedly use archival footage that includes his famous narrative voice, as well as re-enactments of his life shot in black and white in the style of “The Twilight Zone.”
DiCaprio, who once visited Syracuse in 2007, is producing through his production company, Appian Way, along with Goodlight, Grub Street Films, and Verdi Productions, plus Chad A. Verdi, Jennifer Davisson, Phillip Watson, Taylor DiGilio, Blake J. Harris, Michelle Verdi, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba, and Tulis.
Production will take place in Rhode Island, despite Serling’s roots being in Upstate New York. The six-time Emmy Award winner was born in Syracuse on Christmas Day 1924, moved to Binghamton at age 2 and graduated from Binghamton High School in 1942; the Southern Tier city recently erected a statue in his likeness at Recreation Park, which features a carousel that inspired the “Twilight Zone” episode “Walking Distance.”
